Our Story
When we relocated to California in 2014, we left it all behind. Family, friends, culture, places we knew, and things we loved. The idea was to grow from change. But when everything you know is behind you and you have no idea what’s ahead, getting anywhere just feels a lot like starting from scratch. A different environment triggers a natural response to acclimate, so we did our best to adjust to our new workplace and showed interest in the surrounding culture. We tried hard to fit in and made every effort to share the things we knew with others while being eager to try unfamiliar experiences.
But after settling in, we hardly felt the comradeship we once knew. We realized what it’s like to be outside of social circles. We have lost the road of regular friend circles and great moments that created ideas, experiences, social skills, and a sense of humor. It was so frustrating not feeling warm diversity, making genuine human connections, and calling people friends. As we felt more disconnected, we looked deeper into it and saw a global dilemma. It affects the entire world, and not enough is being done to prevent it.

Success leads to happiness, but unlike our achievements in life, a sense of belonging isn’t just about us. Instead, it’s a wonderful experience to be part of. It’s something we can never find alone. Those priceless moments that only happen in togetherness make us happy in ways nothing else can. All we really want is a sense of friendship we feel through shared hobbies, interests, talents, and similarities. We want to feel the uniqueness of a time and place where memories are made, and unforgettable words and smiling faces leave everlasting imprints.
Within existing social network platforms, we couldn’t find a way to meet people in alignment with our life stage. So In 2019, the journey that became Communiqu began. We sat down while carefully listening to our feelings and started drawing a solution on paper. Thoughts cascaded into emotions. We not only wanted to live healthier, but we also wanted to be part of something that lets people meet in real for real and create authentic, long-term friendships.
